The final stages of the trial of two police officers are about to take place. The closing argument of two police officers from two Colorado will conclude the trial. Reuters News Reports say that this much-awaited trial will be taking place on Tuesday.
The trial concerns two Colorado police officers who are accused of killing a Black individual. Elijah McClain was a young Black citizen who unfortunately died in the year 2019. The police officers in question restrained him roughly and injected him with the sedative ketamine.
A few trials have already taken place. There, the public prosecutors held that the police officers handled the victim with unnecessary brutal force. Randy Roedema and Jason were rough in their dealings and used force to stop him.
They even provided the paramedics with false information. This led to the medical personnel administering the wrong dose of ketamine. They administered a large dose based on the wrong information.
This led to the death of Elijah. Therefore, both officers are now facing charges of reckless manslaughter and second-degree assault.
The defense attorneys who are representing the officers hold that the death was caused by the paramedics alone.
Recently, a revised autopsy report from September 2022 has come to light in this case. It states that Elijah’s death was a result of the “complications of ketamine administration following forcible restraint.”
