Judge Walker laid his wit on display by comparing the state of Florida to the Upsidedown, referring to the popular Netflix show, “Stranger things”.

A law in the state of Florida that restricts workspace bias and training relating to diversity has been ruled to be a violation of the First Amendment. The law has thus been deemed unenforceable.
A preliminary injunction pertaining to the anti-woke law was earlier granted by Chief Judge Walker of the District Court of Northern Florida. The injunction, however, did not specify its application over the schools of Florida.
The American Civil Liberties Union is representing teachers and students who have filed lawsuits against the law.
Florida Governor DeSantis had also made efforts to block the application of the Critical Race Theory in Florida schools earlier in 2021.

Judge Walker has opined that if the State of Florida is true to its belief in an anti-racist society, then it would present its side of the case. The esteemed Judge has also stated that there is no need to subdue the opponents.
The Judge was seen to make a light-hearted joke stating that with the bans imposed, Florida seems to be an upside down for the First Amendment.
He said that with the ruling, the Court has been tasked with bringing back Florida from the upsidedown.
