Earlier, a man who was accused of injuring and shooting three college students pleaded not guilty. The victims are of Palestinian heritage. The fatal injuries happened in Burlington of Vermont.
This incident took place during the weekend. However, now he claims that he didn’t do it. He is claiming not guilty as the prosecution brings about attempted murder charges on him this Monday. The judge has declared that he must stay in jail without a possibility of release on bond.
Jason J. Eaton, 48, has faced an arraignment hearing in the Criminal Court, Chittenden County in Burlington. He made a video appearance through the county jail. Officials have detained him since his arrest on Sunday, the day after the attack.
The police are now looking into what happened during the shooting. It took place on Saturday night in Burlington’s downtown area. Burlington is the largest city in Vermont. They suspect that the crime might have been driven by hate.
Two out of the three citizens who were shot have talked about wearing the black-and-white scarf commonly worn by Palestinians. They are called keffiyeh scarves.
One of the victims have claimed that they were having a conversation in English and Arabic when the accused approached them with a gun. All of this information has been given in great detail in legal papers filed in court.
The victims are three friends. They identified in the court documents as Kinnan Abdalhamid, Hisham Awartani, and Tahseen Aliahmad and. All of the victims are aged 20. As of now, they are under medical care recovering from the gunshot wounds.
