A US federal jury has on Thursday declared conviction of a right wing (possibly) conspiracy theorist. He had apparently carried out a hammer attack on the victim. Prosecutors said that the victim is the husband of a former Speaker of the U.S. House, Mrs. Nancy Pelosi.
David Wayne De-Pape is the convicted. 43-year-old David broke into the residential area of the Pelosis. This incident took place in their home in San Francisco. The convict had apparently entered the victim’s home and attacked. He struck Mr. Paul Pelosi on the head with his hammer. This incident took place early in the morning on the 28th of Oct, 2022.
Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat, still served the office of the speaker during the incident. Thus, she was away for work in Washington.
The jury in San Francisco had deliberated that since midday on Wednesday, David is guilty. David faces charges like attempted kidnapping along with assault to the immediate family member of a federal servant. One of the spokespersons of the U.S. Attorney’s office have delivered this statement.
These crimes have the potential of a prison sentence that could extent from 20 years to 30 years, respectively. These are according to federal guidelines of sentencing.
DePape further faces charges of attempted murder in the California state court. This could carry a prison sentence of about 13 years to life.
