Divorce is tricky. True. The Mr. and Mrs. Smith duo can vouch for the same!
Brad Pitt, the renowned actor, has been accused of ‘looting’ the winery assets. Recent new reports claim that he has been acting ‘like a petulant child‘ in the ongoing legal battle.

This legal battle is about the Château Miraval, the French winery that actors Brad Pitt and then-wife Angelina Jolie had bought together. This legal battle that has been going on for a while seems to be heating up again.
On Monday, new documents were filed in California court. These filed documents held that Mr. Pitt was “looting” the Château’s assets and trying to carry out his desperate effort to maintain control of the property. This incident was reported by CNN and the Financial Times.
Nouvel and the Winery
Nouvel, an investment firm formerly owned by Ms. Jolie, has filed these claims in the Court of jurisdiction. The firm used to hold her stake in the winery. The group has filed a lawsuit claiming $350 million in damages for the alleged lawsuit. Pitt has apparently “masterminded a so-far-successful plan to seize de facto control of Château Miraval,” claims the firm.
“Pitt wasted the company’s assets, spending millions on vanity projects, including more than $1 million on swimming pool renovations, building and rebuilding a staircase four times, and spending millions to restore a recording studio,” this claim reads, as reported by the Financial Times.
Claims Were Made
Nouvel lawyers have further claimed that Mr. Pitt’s “misconduct” has only elevated after Ms. Jolie decided to sell Nouvel in 2021’s October.
“Incensed that Jolie sold Nouvel to Stoli rather than him, Pitt has acted like a petulant child, refusing to treat Nouvel as an equal partner in the business,” the filing further reads, according to the reports made by CNN.
History Catching Up
The celebrity former couple had purchased the winery way back in 2008. Mr. Pitt filed a lawsuit in February 2022 objecting to the sale of the property. His lawsuit stated that the sale was completely unlawful as they had purchased the Château together.
Jolie had answered by saying that she sold her part of the winery for “financial independence” from the “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” actor, her former husband. This counterclaim held that this helped her “have some form of peace and closure to this deeply painful and traumatic chapter of her and their children’s lives,” as reported by CNN.
Finally!
There were allegations of abuse against Mr. Pitt. But the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services investigations found no action against Pitt necessary.
For now, there have been no reports of any statement from Mr. Pitt.
